for nonprofits - planning services

planning services focus on translating long-term vision into practical strategies and work plans.  vogt consulting begins the planning process with the data from the qualitative analysis to help shape a plan to fit the client's situation and needs  Types of plans include:

expansion capacity - board self-management - project projections - development

expansion capacity - A team process that ends with a formal document.  The purpose is to heighten the probability of the client's success in undertaking an expansion effort.  The document outlines key strategies and timelines for addressing the client's organizational capacity to expand.  The backbone of this plan is a qualitative assessment of the key functions of the organization, e.g., programs/services, community relations, leadership, financial position, communications, and fundraising.

board self-management - A board-driven process that ends in board self-management plan.  The purpose is to improve the effectiveness in the client's governance.  The plan highlights strategies and goals for areas where the board wants to improve its self-management, e.g., in nominations, orientation, meetings.

project projections - A board- and executive-driven process that ends in a formal document.  The purpose is for the client to be able to examine, and possibly demonstrate to prospective donors, the operational and financial feasibility of a proposed project or program.  The plan highlights the client's unique advantages and is informed by marketing and operational strategies for the new project.  This is business planning for nonprofits.

development - An executive- and staff-driven process that ends in a document that outlines the steps for achieving annual, project, or campaign goals.  The plan outline the client's unique human and programmatic assets, and recommends a process for leveraging those assets into contributions and grants.
